Vague dates ruling hits many Rape Cases

I couldn't believe what I read on TODAY newspaper today.
Everyone assume that Law people are among the smartest, the brainest and the brightest people on Planet Earth.

But today, they prove us wrong.

You can find some of the stupidest laws made by stupid educated people.
In Malaysia, the court rule that dates when the rape offences happened must be specifically mentioned in the charge sheet. Prosecutors now have to withdraw many many cases from trial.

How can rape victims remember the time and date of the incident? They are too traumatised. They want to forget the whole episode. Some victims are too young to remember. Some incidents are discovered long after the incident.

It brings into questions how court rulings and decision are made.
Do they consult affected parties about the effect of their ruling? I don't think so.
Do they try to put themselves in the other parties shoes? I don't think so.
Are they serving the interest of the rape victims, the very people they ought to protect?
I think they forget the reason for their existence.
