Kiasu
Some schools are locking up the field with fencing and padlocks. Gone are the days when students are free to play in the field during recess. The usual response from the school authorities is that they were concerned about the children's safety and that it was expensive to maintain the field. They are stopping the students from playing so that they would not injure themselves.
No wonder children lost their free spirit once they start schooling. Soon they will forget the meaning of play. No wonder we have to import 'foreign talent' to represent our country to win medals in international competition.
That's the price of kiasuism.
